From 1 June 2024, Giuseppe Luppino joined ALICE as the new Programme Manager for Thematic Group 2 (Corridors, Hubs and Synchromodality) and Thematic Group 3 (Systems & Technologies for Interconnected Logistics).
Giuseppe brings with him an extensive background in transport and logistics, having served as the Head of European Projects at the Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation in Bologna, Italy, for over 17 years. His work has primarily focused on enhancing freight transport efficiency and sustainability across regional, national, and international levels.
Giuseppe’s leadership at OPEN ENLoCC — the European Network of Regional Logistics Competence Centres — highlights his commitment to fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange in logistics. His academic credentials, including an MBA focused on Economics and Management from the Bologna Business School, complement his professional expertise, enabling him to contribute significantly to ALICE’s objectives.
Giuseppe’s role will involve steering both Thematic Groups towards innovative logistics solutions that are not only efficient but also resilient and responsive to the evolving needs of the industry.

Thematic Group 2 (Corridors, Hubs and Synchromodality) aims to transform the European transport landscape into a co-modal network where corridors and hubs are optimally aligned with the diverse needs of supply chains. The group seeks to establish a synchronised intermodal service ecosystem, advancing towards the vision of the Physical Internet.
Thematic Group 3 (Systems & Technologies for Interconnected Logistics) is dedicated to defining the research and innovation paths necessary for real-time configurable supply chains within global networks, employing advanced ICT solutions to foster interconnected logistics. This Thematic Group also integrates important aspects of safety and security.
