Brussels, 19 December 2023 – The ALICE Logistics Innovation Awards were presented at the final event of the BOOSTLOG project, a three-year journey dedicated to boosting the uptake and impact of EU-funded research and innovation (R&I) in the freight transport and logistics sector.
These awards celebrated outstanding examples of innovation implementation- that successfully transformed R&I project outcomes into commercial solutions, marketable products, or influential policy contributions.
About the Logistics Innovation Award
The Logistics Innovation Award was launched by ALICE (Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe) as part of the BOOSTLOG project, funded under the Horizon 2020 programme. The initiative sought to recognise and promote real-world implementation of public-funded R&I project results, many of which had made significant contributions to the digitalisation, decarbonisation, and modernisation of Europe’s logistics landscape.
As outlined in ALICE’s first press release announcing the award (23 April 2021),
“We need three key factors to lead successful commercialisation of R&I results: demands from customers, capable R&D expertise, and ambition to make R&I results implemented,” said Jan Tore Pedersen, founder of MIXMOVE, itself born from an EU-funded project.
The awards honoured those who demonstrated these qualities and helped shape a stronger innovation culture in European logistics.

About the BOOSTLOG Project
BOOSTLOG (Boosting impact generation from research and innovation on integrated freight transport and logistics systems) was a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. It ran from January 2021 to December 2023.
Led by ALICE, BOOSTLOG brought together 13 partners from across Europe, including research organisations, companies, public authorities, and civil society. Its mission was to help shape a logistics ecosystem that is smarter, greener, more connected, and more competitive.
