Collaborative Innovation Day: Addressing challenges of e-commerce in City Logistics

Growth in e-commerce has led to increasing use of light goods vehicles for parcel deliveries in urban areas as well as a number of new solutions to deal with this growing demand. This is happening in a context in which congestion and emissions are raising in awareness and concern for cities and citizens. ecommerce is also impacting and challenging logistics and retails paradigms.

This topic calls for Collaborative Innovation so it can be addressed in a way that is enhancing citizens life as well as contributing to addrress challenges such as congestion and emissions. Collaborative innovation is key to address challenges and opportunities for freight transport and logistics. Following the success and outcomes of previous editions, the objectives of this Collaborative Innovation Day (CIDs) are:

  • Share an overview of the state of play of ecommerce implications on city logistics and related impacts.
  • Share and discuss achievements, challenges and opportunities addressed by new and ongoing projects/initiatives and Start-ups.
  • Discuss and agree on next steps and research and innovation needs in the application field of city logistics.

Questions addressed:

  • How ecommerce is and will be impacting city logistics?. Which are the opportunities and threats?
  • How eCommerce could be converted into an opportunity to drive Zero Emissions City Logistics in 2030?
  • Which are the most prominent use cases in the area of city logistics?.
  • What is needed in terms of Research and Innovation to get the best out of ecommerce?
  • How Physical Internet concepts can support addressing future challenges?

The Collaborative Innovation Day – “Addressing challenges of e-commerce in City Logistics” will take place on 27th September 2018 at Poste Italiane, Viale Europa 175, 00144 Roma, from 10:00 to 16:30 hours.

If you wish to have an active contribution, present your start-up, project or initiative in a poster session before and during the lunch break please contact us (info@etp-alice.eu) or inform us through the registration form by 13th of September. Your active participation is expected!.

Registration is compulsory to access the CID and participation is by invitation only. We would be grateful if you could register or ask for an invitation by 20th of September 2018. Places are limited and will be confirmed upon registration.
