[TG3 – AI & DT Webinar series #1] A Digital Twin for Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS): implementation, Digital Modelling and the role of Artificial Intelligence

This webinar will explore an innovative approach to enhancing automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). With the growing dominance of e-commerce and the increasing pressures on supply chains, AS/RS must adapt to daily operational demands with greater flexibility. This webinar will introduce a novel Digital Twin (DT) solution integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address these challenges effectively.
The proposed DT combines conceptual, simulation, and optimization models, supported by AI techniques, to provide a robust and scalable system for predicting and improving AS/RS operations. A particular focus will be on solving the order-sequencing problem, a key challenge in AS/RS management, by optimizing the sequence of picking orders to reduce lead times. The DT also enables scenario analysis, offering a powerful tool to handle demand variability, unexpected customer orders, and operational disruptions.
